Concession Worker (April – October)

During all regular, major, and special events, concession workers are responsible for providing food items to Motor Mile Speedway & Dragway fans and guests. This position will work directly under the guidance of the Concession Manager. The following guidelines are applicable to the position of the Concession Worker:

  • Assist in food preperation while maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all food service operations.

  • Responsible for accurate accounting and all transactions through point of sale system.

  • Provide excellent cusomter service skills and positive attitude.

  • Responsible for taking food and beverage orders, presenting prices, processing cash/credit card payments, and ensureing quick delivery of each order.

  • Work in a team environment that is dedicated to excellent customer service and food quality. Remain knowledgable of Serve Safe Standards and execute accordingly.

  • Responsible for cleaning, stocking and restocking of workstations and displays.

  • Help ensure adequate inventories of food items are readily available, advising the Concession Manager of any discrepancies.

  • Ensure customer complaints are immediately referred to the Concession Manager.

Dragway Water Box  (April – October)

Individuals assigned to Water Box are responsible for ensuring the area has sufficient water available to allow a burnout. In addition to maintaining an adequate water supply, Water Box personnel must be familiar with current IHRA and Motor Mile Speedway & Dragway safety rules. Any discrepancies should be pointed out to the Starter as the vehicle begins the staging process.  The following guidelines are applicable to the position of the Water Box:

  • Ensure the starting line has one broom.

  • Ensure there are two brooms in the burnout area.

  • Ensure the power blowers are available and operational.

  • Assist in the cleanup of any debris.

  • Return all equipment at the conclusion of race activities.

  • Ensure there are charged fire extinguishers available and ready for operation prior to beginning of race day at the starting line and vacinity of the Water Box.

  • Each employee will be held responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area, including and buildings and/or vehicles or equipment used.

  • Monitor and direct as necessary all spectators and crew in the restricted area at the starting line.

Dragway Staging Lane Operator  (April – October)

The individual assigned to this position is responsible for bringing cars into the staging area as directed by the Track Manager/Race Director. The Staging Lane Operator will advise when there is sufficient room to bring additional cars into the staging lane.  The following guidelines are applicable to the position of the Staging Lane Operator:

  • Maintain complete familiarity with the current run order.

  • Advise drivers to prepare themselves when it appears their respective lanes are due for calling.

  • Collect time trial run cards when required.

  • Keep all spectators from entering restricted area.

  • Assist in cleaning up debris as directed.

  • Each employee will be held responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area, including any buildings and/or vehicles or equipment used.

Specifics:

  • Must have flexible seasonal schedule during the months of April through October.

  • Must be open to learning multiple job functions during the season.

  • Must have experience and be knowledgable of dragway operations.

Dragway Time Slip Booth (April – October)

After each run, cars must receive a time slip to properly evaluate the run and prepare for the next round of competition. The individual assigned will be responsible for distirbuting the correct run data. The following guidelines are applicable to the position of the Time Slip Booth:

  • Ensure operation of each printer before racing begins.

  • Distirbute time slips.

  • Change printer ribbon and reload paper as needed.

  • Advise Track Manager/Race Director whenever a malfunction occurs.

  • Each employee will be held responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area, including any buildings and/or any vehicles or equipment.

Cook (April – October)

During all regular, major, and special events, personnel is responsible for preparing concession menu items utilizing cooking equipment in a fast-paced environment. Must be aware of portion control, food waste, and sanitation standards.  This position will work directly under the guidance of the Concession Manager. The following guidelines are applicable to the position of Cook:

  • Must adhere to high food quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction.

  • Responsible for cooking and packaging food product which is prepared to order or kept warm until sold.

  • Receives orders from staff for food product requirements for guests orders.

  • Responsible for maintaining quality and production standards on all menu items. Food must be fresh and of high quality when served to the guests.

  • Responsible for portion control and serving temperatures of all products served in the concession stand.

  • Responsible for cleaning, stocking and restocking of workstations and displays.

  • Responsible for operating large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep fryers, and ovens.

  • Ensures that all work areas and equipment are clean, food products are properly stored, and utensils are clean and put away.

  • Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.

Ticketing/Gate Control (April – October)

Personnel assigned to ticket sales and gate control positions are responsible for selling the appropriate ticket to incoming guests and ensuring orderly flow of guests into the facility. The following guidelines are applicable to the position of the Ticketing/Gate Control:

  • All ticket sellers will familiarize themselves with the appropriate wristbands and/or tickets to be sold and/or assigned to them that day.

  • Verify their daily start bank.

  • Provide excellent customer service skills while ensuring all guests entering Motor Mile Speedway & Dragway are treated with courtesy and respect.

  • At the conclusion of ticket sales, all required paperwork, including reconciliation shets and accouting forms will be completed.

  • Ensure each guest provides Motor Mile Speedway & Dragway a ticket for specific event.

  • At the end of each employee’s assigned shift, they will be resonsible for returning the associated supplies ( stamps, wristbands, buckets, etc.) and or materials.

  • Each employee will be held responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Parking Attendant (April – October)

During major and special events, personnel are required to facilitate the orderly flow of vehicles and maximaize the use of parking space.  The following guidelines are applicable to the position of the Parking Attendant:

  • Keep parking areas clean and orderly to ensure the space usage is maximized.

  • Direct motorists to parking areas/parking spaces, ensuring parking layout allows for guests to exit and enter.

  • Patrol parking areas to direct guests to open spots.

  • Patrol parking areas in order to prevent vehicle damage.

  • Ensure all guests entering Motor Mile Speedway & Dragway are treated with courtesy and respect.
